I know I’m an old prude, but the acronym BYOD somehow strikes me as wrong. What do you think of when you hear it? “Bring Your Own Bottle”, perhaps? BYOD also stands for “Bring Your Own Drugs”, although I prefer “Bring Your Own Dessert”. With all the work schools do to warn students about harmful and illegal use of alcohol and drugs (and obesity), you’d think we’d avoid “clever” titles like this. Couldn’t we just tell students what technologies they can bring and forget BYOD?
