In the Spring of 2013, the National Children’s Museum will open “A Place for Being Me” at National Harbor in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The area will include 75,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space packed with activities targeting the museum’s goals for creating healthy, fit, and informed children. Special areas include a toddler zone, a fantasy garden, and mountain and water adventures. Children will explore the environment as they learn through discovery and creative thinking. “A Place for Being Me” is a transitional space designed as the latest development of the National Children’s Museum. The museum, although located in the Washington, D.C. area, is meant to be a national resource for all children who visit our nation’s capitol. Teachers and parents everywhere can explore the online Center for Learning & Innovation, which is open now and features educational resources related to the arts, civic engagement, the environment, play, health and well-being, ADHD, and our global neighborhood.
