USA Today’s Edward C. Baig in this Personal Tech piece, Office
2010 Has Lots of Nifty New Features to Recommend, compares the Microsoft Office to the Beatles. That’s
because the programs available in the Office
package are “perennial chart toppers”.
The latest Office releases in
June 2010 along with Office Web Apps,
free online access to Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and OneNote.
According to Baig, the software, of course, offers many more features than the
online freebies. Some new options include: video-editing within PowerPoint, a customizable ribbon
toolbar, collaborative and innovative document editing, enhanced
picture-editing tools, and an area for managing documents. In Word, you can retrieve a document that
you forgot to save as long as you haven’t closed the program. I know I’ll make
good use of that one. To learn more, watch the video that introduces the new Office,
for there’s lots more to find out about the 2010 version.
