Two U.S. lawmakers say Facebook has yet to answer their concerns about how it would manage its social-networking website if and when it allows children younger than 13 to join. Reps. Ed Markey, D-Mass., and Joe Barton, R-Texas, say the company has not responded to a letter seeking specific information on how the data it might someday collect from children would be shared or used for ads. Facebook said, in a June 25 letter to the lawmakers, that it had "made no final decision whether to change our current approach to prohibiting children under 13 from joining Facebook." It’s good to be aware that if you have a child under 13 that Facebook may soon be available to them legally and plan your chats about technology and privacy accordingly.
Nice information. I think age verification must have some steps to confirm that the person lying about age or not.
