Facebook is paying out $20 million and changing its user-privacy rules in order to settle a lawsuit relating to its "Sponsored Stories" ad product. Users will be more explicitly warned that by "liking" a product they are giving permission for their name and photo to be used in ads, and they will be allowed to opt out of the ads altogether. Facebook says the changes will likely cost it about $103 million in lost ad revenue. Do your kids know that their information can be used like this for just liking a product?
